Occupational Therapy Services
Occupational Therapists use specialist assessments and interventions to develop and maintain individuals’ activities of daily living.
At Adot Healthcare we provide standardized tests and OT specific interventions which are tailored to your needs in your own home at a convenient time for you. Each individual is assessed holistically thereby evaluating your physical, emotional and psychological needs or difficulties. It involves the following:
- An initial consultation to know whether we can be of help to you.
- An extensive initial specialised OT needs assessment is completed.
- A detailed personalised report will be written up.
- Treatment which includes goal setting and planning with progress reviews.
To achieve independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) e.g., washing & dressing, cooking, eating, gardening, laundry, hobbies, etc. The importance of each ADL is prioritised differently from one person to another; hence we work with you to identify what is important to you and we develop a treatment plan and work with you to achieve them.
For equipment needs assessment to aid safety in transfers around the house, which may include recommendations for minor adaptations or aids/equipment that suits.
Here we work with you to help you to relearn skills you may have lost following some type of neurological injury and to reduce and/or compensate for any functional deficiencies resulting from it. Thereby helping you regain your confidence, independence and improve your quality of life as much as possible. Recovery rate varies from person to person and also depends on the severity of the neurological injury.
